Government censorship (SOPA & PIPA )

Government has come across various intense where content has been misused to cost grieves hurt to various section of the society and illegally copied films and TV content, it is because of these reason the government has decided to make this Act to exercise regulation over contents. This Act is promulgated to exercise control over illegal content in cyber space.
Wikipedia's blackout looms
Website founder Jimmy Wales calls for public uprising against Sopa, the proposed US internet piracy laws.

Wikipedia is staging a public protest today ( 18/01/2012) to garner support for its opposition to the anti-piracy measures proposed in the United States Congress.

The move is to protest against the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) Bill, which is aimed at combating issues like illegally copied films and TV content and and the proposed PROTECT IP Act (PIPA).

In a statement, Wikipedia said if the proposed legislation is passed, it 'would be devastating to the free and open web.

Over 1,800 Wikipedians discussed the proposed actions the community wanted to take against SOPA and PIPA and came up with the decision to blackout the site for 24 hours, like other websites opposing the laws.

Twitter :

In a tweet, Twitter CEO Dick Costolo called Wikipedia's plans to pull the plug on its website "foolish" and "silly".

My view :
This Act has been severely opposed by various sector of the society. This Act is being construed as a infringement on fundamental right and freedom of expression.According to me Government is coming out with Act due to following reason :
1.Pressure from various group belonging to entertainment
  industries.
2.To be seen or perceived as being tough on illegal issues.
3.To have some modicum of control over cyber space.

At Last :
1.Government should stop wasting time on such frivolous issues.Cyber space is the virtual world which has no boundary or fixed domain. It is practically impossible to control or regulate on content posted on it.
2.People who load content should take moral responsibility and assure the correctness of their content.
3.Complete name, add and other information of the person uploading the content.
4.Self declaration attesting responsibility for the origin and nature of the content to be furnished by the authors of the contents.
5.The no portal should upload content till both these requirement are met.
6.The government should implement some simple effective step to control the contents.
